"The Socialist Task and Outlok," by Morris Hillquit
Influential article by a leader of the Regular faction of the Socialist Party of America, published in the New York Call and later in pamphlet form. This article was later regarded as the opening shot in the purge of the SPA during the run up to the August 30, 1919 Emergency National Convention in Chicago. There the Socialist Party was permanently split into multiple organizatons.
